Thank you for taking an interest in volunteering for AYME
"Not many people can say they can do their job from the comfort of their bed! I had never thought about volunteering before but I'm so glad I do. I get emails every so often just to make sure I'm okay and everything is going well.
"AYME supports me in every way to make the job is as easy as possible. I love volunteering as it makes me feel happy knowing that by me spending a few hours a month I will put a smile on someone's face... help AYME out and give something back."
- You can help make coping with ME/CFS a little easier for others.
- Volunteering can be very rewarding. As well as giving something back, you can get a lot out of it and make some new friends.
- It looks great on your CV, particularly if you do a certificate with someone like MaD (see below).
- If you think we could do things better at AYME, then you can do your bit and make a difference!
- All of AYME's member volunteers have ME so we'll understand if you're having a bad day.
There are various services that AYME members can volunteer for:
These include; Peer Support Moderators on our message board, Buddy Writer to a SAM (severely affected member), Cheers Page Writer, Birthday Card Writer and being a Local Contact Group Leader.
To join our list of willing volunteers and recieve updates of volunteer jobs that become available please fill in the volunteer form on the right hand side of this page.
AYME is one of sixty organisations to have been awarded the prestigious Queen's Diamond Jubilee Volunteering Award 2012.
The Cabinet Office and Buckingham Palace said AYME has been chosen for harnessing the hard work, commitment and generosity of volunteers to improve the lives of children and young people struck down by the chronic debilitating condition ME/CFS.

"My job takes around two hours per week. I enjoy it as it is good to give something back to AYME and fits in nicely with the business course I am doing with the Open University."
